Montessori en Perú

Cuando Gianina visitó un jardín de Montessori por primera vez, le dijo que había buscado lo que estaba buscando, durante todo su vida, para enseñar a los niños peruanos.

Cuando analizo panorámicamente la educación en el Perú, veo que aún hay mucho por hacer y fortalecer, empezando con el compromiso de los maestros a hacer su labor—un compromiso principalmente con el corazón. Es decir, que los maestros no se sientan que ser maestros es tan solo un puesto de trabajo, sino que lo hagan por amor a los niños. 

Los niños son pequeñas esponjas que absorben absolutamente todo. Por eso, en esos primeros años de su vida, intentar transmitirles los conocimientos con amor para mí, como maestra, es fundamental.

Han pasado muchas cosas en mi vida, pero algo que jamás olvidaré y que marcó mi vida para siempre, fue cuando llegué por primera vez como maestra de alemán a un jardín de infantes (o Kindergarten) aquí en Perú. Sólo al cruzar el umbral de la puerta, me di cuenta que era un mundo muy diferente a lo que ya conocía en otras escuelas., En este jardín, se respiraba mucha armonía, paz y amor. Pero, además, observé que utilizaban elementos pedagógicos que yo no conocía porque era un jardín de infantes siguiendo la Metodología Montessori.

El método Montessori fue desarrollado por una educadora y doctora italiana, María Montessori, en el primer parte del siglo XX. Se caracteriza por proveer un ambiente preparado: ordenado, estético, simple, y real, donde cada elemento tiene su razón de ser en el desarrollo de los niños.

Me gratificaba ver cómo los niños disfrutaban de cada actividad que la guía de la Metodología Montessori les ofrecía. Me quedaba impactada de ver su autonomía a la edad tan temprana de 2 a 4 años.

Sentí ese mismo día que mi corazón no podía más de emoción. 

En ese mismo momento me dije - “Gianina, encontraste lo que tanto estabas buscando en la vida”- mientras sentía que mis lágrimas rodaban por mis mejillas, encontré ahí mi felicidad. 

Yo sabía que había encontrado una gran herramienta para poder guiar a los niños con dificultades de aprendizaje y, sobre todo, guiar a los niños de mi país. Guiar a los niños de Perú es mi verdadera pasión.

Siempre estaré tan agradecida a la directora del jardín de infantes, la querida Tante Janet, por permitirme ingresar a ese maravilloso mundo de Montessori. 

De aquel día han pasado casi 7 años y desde entonces, no he parado ni he querido dejar de aprender e investigar. 

En el año 2019 me enteré con mucha alegría que AMI (Asociación Montessori International) ya estaba en Perú como Montessori Asociación Perú (MAP).

Actualmente, soy asistente Montessori, certificada por la AMI, y lo digo con mucho orgullo ya que me encantaría poder continuar el legado de la Dra. Maria Montessori–un legado de amor. Mi meta es poder llegar al punto más distante y recóndito del Perú con esta maravillosa metodología.

Maria Montessori dijo, "Sembrad en los niños ideas buenas, aunque no las entiendan; los años se encargarán de descifrarlas en su entendimiento y de hacerlas florecer en su corazón." 

Seguiré en esta senda de mi vida, con la visión que Dios y Maria Montessori puso en mi corazón. Seguiré sembrando y espero que mis ojos puedan ver alguna vez los frutos, todo tiene su tiempo. 

¡Amo la vida, soy feliz!

Topics

We believe in quality over quantity. To give ourselves a focus, we started out to collect personal stories that relate to our correspondents' experiences with six different global topics. However, these topics were selected to increase the likelihood that the stories of different correspondents will cover the same issues and therefore illuminate these issues from different perspectives - and not to exclude any stories. If you have a personal story relating to a global issue that's not covered by our topics, please still reach out to us! We definitely have some blind spots and are happy to revise our focus and introduce new topics at any point in time. 

Environment

Discussions about the environment often center on grim, impersonal figures. Among the numbers and warnings, it is easy to forget that all of these statistics actually also affect us - in very different ways. We believe that in order to understand the immensity of environmental topics and global climate change, we need the personal stories of our correspondents.

Gender and Sexuality

Gender is the assumption of a "normal". Unmet expectations of what is normal are a world-wide cause for violence. We hope that the stories of our correspondents will help us to better understand the effects of global developments related to gender and sexuality, and to reveal outdated concepts that have been reinforced for centuries.

Migration

Our correspondents write about migration because it is a deeply personal topic that is often dehumanized. People quickly become foreigners, refugees - a "they". But: we have always been migrating, and we always will. For millions of different reasons. By sharing personal stories about migration, we hope to re-humanize this global topic.

Liberation

We want to support the demand for justice by spotlighting the personal stories of people who seek liberation in all its different forms. Our correspondents share their individual experiences in creating equality. We hope that for some this will be an encouragement to continue their own struggle against inequality and oppression - and for some an encouragement to get involved.

Education

Education is the newest addition to our themes. We believe that education, not only formal but also informal, is one of the core aspects of just and equal society as well as social change. Our correspondents share their experiences and confrontations about educational inequalities, accessibility issues and influence of societal norms and structures. 

Corona Virus

2020 is a year different from others before - not least because of the Corona pandemic. The worldwide spread of a highly contagious virus is something that affects all of us in very different ways. To get a better picture of how the pandemic's plethora of explicit and implicit consequences influences our everyday life, we share lockdown stories from correspondents all over the world.

Growing Fast

Although we started just over a year ago, Correspondents of the World has a quickly growing community of correspondents - and a dedicated team of editors, translators and country managers.
